Guitar Advice for a Beginner?
Hey guys!
So, I just bought an electric guitar and I'm STOKED to start learning how to play! 1) What else do I need (picks, amps, etc)? 2) What are some good websites to learn the lingo, and other "beginner stuff"? 3) How do I learn to play alternative/emo/punk rock music? I want to learn those styles, not heavy metal or metallica-types of stuff 4) Do you think it's hot when a girl knows how to play the guitar? 5) Are there any facebook groups, websites, forums, etc. where I can conntect with other teens/young adults who play the guitar and the drums, and are in bands? 7) Where can I find hot guys who play the guitar? There are like, NONE where I live so I'd have to relocate or find them online lol

when i first started 3-4 months back i used a site called www.justinguitar.com
he starts at step one, you know like open chords n stuff
chances are your guitar and amp are from a bundle pack being a beginner and probably not knowing anything about em but that's where alot of people started so its ok
you dont really get shown to play those genres you listed because theres nothing in them that's really beyond fairly basic stuff (punk especially) 
speaking for myself as a teenage lad from England i think its pretty attractive in that not many people play the guitar(enter the rap generation ((i hate nylon especially people who dress head to toe in it)) ) and even less of those are girls so yeah its positive quality
as for finding other people to play together i dont know i mean 2 of my friends play instruments and we're gonna start a band soon so yay
but i suppose you could try going to gig and meeting people or join a forum and find people who live nearby
