FENDER ACOUSTIC GUITAR FOR SALE

FENDER ACOUSTIC GUITAR FOR SALE
A good Acoustic Guitar?

I'm probably getting a acoustic guitar for christmas too and I was wondering which brand to look in. People said small hands should go with fender, but others said fender is not good. So I was wondering which brand to look for.
Not asking for budget, since musiciansbuy.com is having a great sale!! at cheap prices. I want a model that would be good for playing pop music. Ya know? Would be nice if you told me the brand and serie it's from, or just give me a few guitars I should consider.
Thanks=DD

If you are looking at Electric guitars, then Fenders are the best for the small handed people. (I'm one myself)
But acoustic guitars are all pretty much the same, unless you are talking a "classical guitar" with nylon strings. The classical guitar has a very wide neck so the strings are far apart to make finger picking easier.

If you have really small hands or are very young, then another option for both classical and steel stringed guitars is a "short scale" guitar. they come in 7/8 3/4 1/2 sizes. 1/2 is for 5 yr olds.
I got a 3/4 classical to learn on when I was 8 or 9. I played it up until I was over 20 and it was just getting old, but it still worked. I started playing electric when I was 13 or so.
they sound the same as a regular guitar but are just smaller.

Fender acoustics are crappy. I had one myself. Garbage
Also the Jasmine by Takamine I tried out about a month ago. Also a piece of garbage.

For the lower range of guitars, I had a person on here whose opinion I respect say that Ibanez acoustics aren't all that bad. Another brand that gets really good reviews is Mitchell. there is an Epiphone ( I think the model is DR 200) about $200 that gets rave reviews.
If you can go $300 or more, Ovations are pretty kick ass. They are really good for small handed folks. they have necks very similar to Fender electric guitars, and to me they "feel" the best to play as far as neck comfort.
Martin guitars are respected guitars,
as are Taylors.

Check guitarcenter.com for their acoustic selection. you can choose a price range to select from. anything under $150 is probably crap. Acoustics are very variable and the craftsmanship is important. they can look real nice but play like sh*t.

But for "pop" music you want a steel string acoustic.
