FENDER ACOUSTIC GUITAR PICTURES

FENDER ACOUSTIC GUITAR PICTURES
I'm a beginner at electric guitar. What amps should I get?

I'm 15 and I have a red 1964 Hagstrom 1 electric guitar with Fender bullet strings. I know it's pretty obscure, but my favourite band The Kills has this exact same guitar, so that's why I got it. Here's a picture of Alison Mosshart in The Kills playing it: http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l325/Nouvelle_VagueImages/kills3.jpg

I'm not a total novice to guitar. I played acoustic for 3 years, then I switched to viola for 5 years, but I was forced to play that and never really enjoyed it, so I'm quitting and going back to guitar.

Only thing is, because I spent US $750 on it, I don't have much money left to get amps, so I want some pretty good beginner ones that won't break the bank. I don't need them to go to loud either, because it will drive my parents crazy with my practicing if they are too loud.

It's not really an option to go to a music store to try amps out, so I really need some suggestions here of what to get. And can you tell me why you suggest them as well?

Now THAT's how you ask questions - congratulations and thanks!

You can get nice cozy little 15 - 50 Watt solid-state combo amps at online stores like musiciansfriend.com. The good companies are Vox, Peavey, Fender, Pignose (amazing amps!), Line 6, maybe Marshall (people love it but my experiences were without exception bland at best). Here's a selection:

and from it look at amps by above companies, with no less than 30W and speaker no smaller than 12, MINIMUM 10 inch.
Now I mentioned 15W first, and that had to do with a new kid on the block, Blackheart amps - they're a little quieter but all tube (that's always good but pricey) and all the reviewes I've read so far were raving. I think I'll try one, too; the question is whether you want it to be your only amp - but that's your call. If I were in your shoes, I'd go with a Line 6 (most versatile), a Vox (fewer sounds, good quality) or a Pignose (few sounds, but really good), for as much money as I could afford.
