Once you have allocated 30 minutes a day for you practice schedule you need to know how to divide that time up to get the best results from your efforts. If you just mess around for 30 minutes you don't actually learn anything new and it's really just wasted energy. Now don't get me wrong! Goofing around on the guitar could be a lot of fun and there should be some of that everyday but you must realize that it's playing guitar and not practicing.

We are all different and you might want to make a few changes but the basic strategy is the same. Focus on the foundations every day.

1. 5 minutes learning chords. Just start with 2 or 3 and make sure your changes are as smooth as possible.

2. Rhythms will be the next exercise and the aim here is to get a very relaxed and learn a few patterns every day. Don't work on more than four patterns each day.

3. Songs are a great way to solidify the chords and rhythms you've been practicing and you'll also get a taste of your new skills in action.

4. Three minutes on some scales and chromatic exercises. The aim is to improve your two hands synchronization.

5. 3 minutes on some ear training. This could be as simple as recording yourself playing some Major and Minor chords while you try and tell the difference.

6. Now that you've worked hard and been very focused you can reward yourself by playing whatever it is you like! Make it count and end your practice schedulewith something that will make you feel good!

This is the end of this acoustic guitar lesson. A sample practice time broken up to focus on some very important basics. Keep it up and soon you'll be a guitar wonder!

There are many competing websites, books and DVDs available when it comes to the subject of guitar lessons for beginners. For novices it can be very difficult to know which method of guitar instruction is best especially if you have no experience whatsoever.

The classic way to learn guitar is by going to a local tutor for private lessons. This time honoured practice is still probably the best assuming you can actually find a good local tutor, there may not be one present. My first word of advice is this - just because someone is advertising a guitar lesson does not automatically mean they are a good tutor.

Being able to successfully teach beginners how to play guitar is a talent the same as any other, not everyone has that ability. Some of the best players I know are also the worst guitar teachers!

If you can't find the time to dedicate to a weekly lessons slot or perhaps can't even find a local teacher the internet becomes the obvious answer for most. Guitar lessons for beginners features highly on a lot of guitar websites and some of the instruction is fantastic.

Online you can learn at entirely your own pace, repeat the video lessons as often as you like and choose your own daily time to make contact with the instrument. In all it represents a lot of opportunities to learn with minimum interference into your lifestyle.

The subject of online beginner guitar lessons also comes with some warnings! Its buyer bewares out there as among the good sites there are plenty of awful ones too. Paying money to learn from a guitar method which is out of date, old fashioned and of poor quality is not going to succeed in teaching you how to play guitar. Whichever way you go, pay attention to your practice and make a firm commitment to being motivated to succeed. Those of you searching for guitar lessons for beginners will find a lot of resources out there just waiting to help you.
