Is it OK to plug a bass guitar into the amp being used by the lead guitar?
My two friends are warring about this...the bass player says he should be able to plug right in without his amp if he's not playing loudly. The guitarist says he doesn't want him to because he thinks it will hurt something. Who's right?
Definitely not. The instruments use totally different frequencies. At best both would distort, at worst damage would be done to the speaker.Guitar speakers are designed to deal with mid and treble frequencies whereas a bass speaker is built for the lower end.
